We're so excited to bring you our Magpie Goose website - it's finally here!
We wanted to create an online space where we could share Magpie Goose products with customers, but also share the stories of the artists and the creators of the textiles. They're the true heroes in this story! There's so many incredible, rich, powerful stories woven in the fabric of Aboriginal Australia (see what we did there) - we feel so lucky and also proud to be a part of bringing these stories to you.
We had a huge pre-order campaign on Kickstarter (which we're still getting out to people - dont worry!), so have started our online store with a random assortment of what we've currently got in stock! We're smoothing out our production and getting all our ducks in line - and we'll have new stock coming in every few weeks.
We're supremely grateful to our tailor friends in Bali who have helped get us started - their incredible craftswoman/manship, and their hard work has been invaluable. From August 2017 we're transitioning our manufacturing to Sphinx Australia, an ECA accredited workshop in Sydney.
Our art centre friends in Wadeye, Gunbalanya, Maningrida and Wurrumiyanga have been printing fabric like bosses - we look forward to continuing to work with them to bring new designs online. We're also planning workshops with artists from Katherine, Urapunga and Borroloola to get new prints onto fabric, and made into fabulous clothing! It's all happening.
We'll upload items onto the website as they become available. They will often be in limited editions. Get in quick!
What a great fun trip it's been so far - thanks to everyone for your patience and incredible support!
