Each year, the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) is one of the highlights of our calendar. It's more than an art fair - it's a celebration of culture, creativity and connection, bringing together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, designers, makers and communities from across the country.
From 9–11 August, you'll find Magpie Goose at DAAF, and we're thrilled to once again be part of Australia's leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art fair.
This year, we'll be exhibiting within the Indigenous Fashion Projects Trade Stall, located in the Waterfront Rooms and Level 2 Mezzanine - a dedicated space celebrating the innovation and diversity of First Nations fashion and textiles. Come and browse our Australian-made clothing, discover the stories behind each artwork, and meet the team behind Magpie Goose.
While we're taking a break from the Country to Couture runway this year, we're looking forward to supporting the incredible First Nations designers taking to the catwalk. Country to Couture has become one of Australia's premier Indigenous fashion events, and we can't wait to celebrate the creativity and talent on display.
What makes this time of year so special is that DAAF is just one part of an extraordinary week of First Nations culture in Darwin. The city comes alive with events that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, fashion, music and storytelling.
Our evenings are filled with joy - the festivities begin with the 11th Country to Couture runway on Monday 3 August, followed by the National Indigenous Fashion Awards (NIFA) on Wednesday 5 August, recognising excellence and innovation in Indigenous fashion. The 20th Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair officially opens on Thursday 6 August, while the prestigious 2026 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) are announced on Friday 7 August. The celebrations continue with the National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs) on Saturday 8 August, before DAAF welcomes visitors from 9–11 August.
Adding to the excitement is the Darwin Festival, which transforms the city with an incredible program of performances, food, music, exhibitions and cultural experiences. Everywhere you turn there's something to discover - it really is one of the most vibrant times of year to visit the Top End, with almost too much to see and do.
