Care Instructions

Every Magpie Goose garment is made from 100% natural fibres. Our fabrics are hand screen printed with water-based inks, and then crafted into high-quality garments. We have a few tips for keeping your pieces in great shape. After all, the longer a garment lasts, the lower your wardrobe’s environmental footprint, which is another way of caring for Country.

For any garment, always start by checking the label for care instructions. Our care instructions are the same for all of our garments, but our extra tips differ slightly per fabric type:

  • Cold hand wash or gentle machine wash inside out with mild detergent
  • Hang to dry in the shade
  • Do not soak or bleach
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Iron on the reverse side of the fabric (that is, avoid ironing the print)

Linen

Linen can wrinkle easily, so rather than wringing out your linens use a towel to absorb excess water and hang to drip dry in the shade. Also, instead of folding, use hangers to store linen garments to avoid creasing in your clothes.

Cotton & Tencel

When drying cotton jersey (like sweaters and t-shirts) stretching is a risk, so laying flat to dry can help maintain the size and shape of your garment. With woven cotton and tencel (like button down shirts) it’s best to hang garments, but jerseys can be rolled and stored in drawers.
