Awele-awele (Bush Tomato) by Stella McMillan

"You find bush tomatoes when you go out bush, they are on the side of the road or next to the hills. Bush tomatoes grow after the summer rain in October or November. They are sweet, nice. The texture is like a raisin, but the taste is different. We pick it and eat it. Sort of tastes like sweet and sour. I was growing up with it. It was a treat when I was a kid, going after school going out for walks with friends and family, picking them. Filling a tin up with them. That's my little story." Stella McMillan
