Our story

Proudly Aboriginal owned and led, Magpie Goose is where fashion and social impact comes together.

We create unique and wearable garments designed to make a statement while generating economic opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through creative industries.

Owned by Troy Casey (Kamilaroi) and Amanda Hayman (Wakka Wakka/Kalkadoon), we’re a family-run business and social enterprise, passionate about creating positive outcomes — and we’re doing it with style.

Proudly Aboriginal owned

Magpie Goose

Magpie Goose combines fashion and social impact to create unique and wearable garments designed to make a statement.

We are providing an alternative to fast fashion by producing limited-edition garments that are high-quality, ethical and sustainable. Additionally, each item is a unique piece of wearable art that presents authentic Aboriginal stories in an accessible and contemporary way. Magpie Goose is more than just a fashion statement—it's a means of cultural expression and education. We’re deeply passionate about celebrating and sharing the vibrant tapestry of Aboriginal culture. For us, every piece of clothing is more than just a garment; it's a canvas that tells stories of community, tradition, and connection to Country. When you wear Magpie Goose, you're wearing a conversation starter, a symbol of respect, and a nod to the incredible knowledge held within Indigenous communities. We're honoured to play a role in promoting understanding and appreciation for diverse Indigenous cultures through our fashion label. With every stitch, we hope to spark conversations, educate others, and foster a deeper respect for Australia’s First Nations people.

How we work

The Art

At the heart of what Magpie Goose does is a desire to tell stories and provide a platform for artists and their communities.

We exclusively collaborate and partner with Indigenous artists and art centres to develop our unique collections.

The Process

Working with high-quality natural textiles and fibres that best showcase our artists’ designs, all of our collections are hand screen printed, designed, and produced right here in Australia.

Stories to wear. Creations by Aboriginal artists. Hand screen-printed. Ethically made in Australia.

Keeping it ethical and sustainable

Nothing goes to waste at Magpie Goose. Even our garment offcuts are given a second life in the form of products like baby rompers and bum bags. Other offcuts are crafted into a range of unique accessories at Second Stitch in Melbourne by refugees, asylum seekers and new migrants. It’s proof that ethics, sustainability and fashion can all live happily together.

All natural, no waste

We use natural fibres like linen
and cotton that decompose after use
instead of adding to landfill.

No plastic? Fantastic!

We choose eco-friendly options
for our packaging, shipping, and
marketing materials.

Quality that lasts

We’ve teamed up with a manufacturer
with over 30 years experience in
producing high quality garments.
