Inernte Necklace Making (Dusty Pink) by Cassandra Neil

"As a kid, I remember my grandmother making necklaces. This design shows the steps we take to make a necklace. The tree and the seeds are called inernte. We would look for the trees, collect the seeds and take them back home. We light a fire inside a tin to heat up wires. There is a board with grooves where the seeds sit so they don't move. Once the wire is hot, we pierce the seeds through the centre. When we have finished making enough beads, we thread them together with string to make jewellery like necklaces." Cassandra Neil
